Tele-Consult Services
Specialty care that includes UAB Medicine clinicians in daily rounds, to address non-acute and ongoing neurological care needs
Consult service with UAB Medicine neurologists in support of stroke and acute non-stroke cases, targeting timely intervention when indicated
Telehealth service that engages UAB Medicine critical care providers in daily ICU rounds to provide specialist support to hospitalists or supplement local specialist care
UAB Medicine specialist support for local care of patients with a kidney-related condition or ESRD (end-stage renal disease) who require dialysis as part of inpatient care
UAB Medicine clinicians provide emergent behavioral health consults to local providers, assessing patient conditions and psychiatric support needs
Trauma specialist care in support of rural EDs to help avoid preventable mortality through rapid intervention and reduce potentially preventable patient transfers
UAB Medicine experts remotely read and interpret EEG results in support of the local provider and bedside team
Continuous Services (Advanced Monitoring)
Full-time monitoring and specialty care for critically ill patients, partnering with the bedside team to improve care, decrease mortality, and reduce average length of stay
UAB Medicine nurses partner with bedside caregivers to handle nursing tasks that don’t require an in-person presence, including admission, education, and discharge activities.
